Merry Christmas dear friends and family! 💚 The chapter of Vietnam is an outlier of our “usual” way of traveling as we stayed for 3 weeks in Hanoi city mainly due to the necessity of tooth treatment for Shiwen. But we tried to make the best out of it by combining it with our favorite hobbies and routines such as pole dance classes for Shiwen and CrossFit for Jannes. We also got to spend lots of time in the cafe and do our own studies. It’s funny that we started this trip to get away from our routine based-city life, but after months of traveling we both missed it too. A special adventure was that we rescued/stole a cat that was caged most of her life and now she is in a new loving home, which is so heartwarming and rewarding. The last few days we could finally escape from the smoggy city and explore the incredibly peaceful nature and villages, and see the “true beauty” of Vietnam. Although the last day we both got sick and had mild food poison, we look at the brighter side that we were still fit enough to ride motorbike for 150km back to Hanoi safely and made it for our flight to Cambodia. Looking back, the chapter of Vietnam had many ups and downs not just in terms of concrete events but also in mind states. Learning how to embrace all of those moments and cultivate a heart that blooms in all seasons is a life-long process. 💚
