From Oaxaca city we went to San Jose (AKA magical mushrooms town), where we experienced the spiritual Temazcal ceremony and “blissful”hiking in the colorful forests. The experiences were really magical… Then in the neighbor village we volunteered for 12 days in a goat farm, where we stayed in a cozy cabin with even a fire place. Our daily task was to walk 6 goats and 3 dogs in a beautiful forest 2 times per day for about 3-4 hours. Honestly it’s not “work” but pure enjoyment and great sport! The goats and dogs are extremely cheerful and attentive and everyday they gave us a different play. We even learnt how to milk the goats and make goat cheese. It was really hard to leave because we bond so deeply with the animals… but “letting go” is also an important part of the journey. 🥹
